JH song. Even creatures who are not up to the task want to rule the world.
Poor little hamster.
lyrics
The Day Of The Hamster Jan Hauenstein
It was the (Em)day (D)of the (Em)Hamster,
Oh (C)how he ruled the (D)town!
So (B7)sad that no-one (Em)noticed,
For (C)he ruled (B7)under(Em)ground. (Em7)
That (Am)little Hamster (D)boy,
He (G)knew that (G/F#)he would (Em)rule,
He (Am)did the best to (D)be prepared,
He (C)almost (B7)went to (E)school.
(Am7) (D) (G) (Fj7) (C) (D) (Em)(hold)
That (C)Hamster´s fur of (D)shining gold,
That (G)Hamster´s (G/F#)courage, (Em)brash and bold!
The (C)hamster maidens (D)swooned and fell,
What (C)happened next? No (B7)tongue should (Em)tell. (Em7)
Suf(C)fice it to say, his (D)whiskers did shake,
Suf(B7)fice it to say, the (E)earth did quake!
Suf(Am)fice it to say, hamster (D)babies were born,
Suf(B7)fice it to say, (hold) ´t was so much hotter than (E) porn.
(Am7) (D) (G) (Fj7) (C) (D) (Em)(hold)
A (Am)Hamster bull of the (D)highest degree,
No (G)match for (G/F#)him were (Em)you and me,
The (Am)Master of the (D)hamster flock,
He (C)knew full well the (B7)earth he´d (Em)rock. (Em7)
That (C)Hamster did phi(D)losophize,
No (G)limit (G/F#)for him (Em)were the skies.
(C)He set out to (D)rule the world,
(C)Lo and behold now! His (B7)toes, they (E)curled.
(Am7) (D) (G) (Fj7) (C) (D) (Em)(hold)
He (Am)called his minions (D)unto him,
Said, (G)“Well, my (G/F#)chances (Em)may be slim.
But (Am)here´s the thing: I (D)should be King!
Let (C)all the world (B7) my praises (Em)sing.” (Em7)
Suf(C)fice it to say, He sent his (D)messengers out.
Suf(B7)fice it to say, they gave the (E)hamster shout!
Suf(Am)fice it to say, the (D)letters: delivered.
Suf(B7)fice it to say, (hold) Hamster waited and (E) shivered.
(Am7) (D) (G) (Fj7) (C) (D) (Em)(hold)
He (Am)waited long. What (D)had gone wrong?
The (G)message was (G/F#)written in (Em)hamster-tongue,
And His (Am)messengers landed in (D)many a pot.
(C)He was the King that the (B7)world for(Em)got.
(Cj7) (Bbj7) (E7) (Am7) (D) (G) (Cj7) (D)(hold)
Not quite the (Em)day (D)of the (Em)Hamster,
How (C)he´d have ruled the (D)town!
One (B7)day a fox got (Em)hungry.
The Hamster´s (C)bones (B7) were never (Em)found. (Em9) (Em) (Em7) (Em) (Em9) (Em) (E)

Looked it up - hamsters live in hordes.
Already knew a male hamster is a buck.
The hamster in the song is, obviously, so much more than a buck.
The words ‘bull’ and ‘flock’ work for me in the context of a heroic hamster song.
More than background music.
You'll hear folk, blues, jazzy songs, rock. Big voice. Albums recommended by

Why no free uploads? I cover songs. Register them with the German music rights agency GEMA. They hopefully reimburse the artists. The tax authorities demand that I make (not lose) a little money each year......more
