After (C)25 weeks in his (G)mother´s womb.
(Am)Down´s syndrome, a (Em)hard decision.
They (F)laid him down in the del(G)ivery room,

(C)Nine long hours, (F)all through the night,
(C)Tim fought his battle with (G)Old Man Death,
(Am)Can you imagine the (Em)tiny baby´s fright,
(F)Can you hear him cry, hear him (G)sob with each breath?
A (C)fighter, a survivor, a (G)nurse looked down and said,
(Am)“Good God Almighty! The (Em)boy is still not dead,

(F)Tim has Down, but (C)Tim is up,
(G)Took a big long sip from (C)life´s sweet loving cup.

(C)Soon everybody knew (G)that boy never would
(Am)Lead a normal life, (Em)speak and run,
But he could (F)laugh and love and (G)smile like the sun.
(C)Bernhard and Simone took (G)one look at the child,
And the (Am)little boy looked (Em)back,
And he (F)smiled, (G)oh how he (C)smiled! (F) (G)

(F)Tim has Down, but (C)Tim is up,
